Questions continue to circulate around the Edmonton Oilers goaltenders as the team prepares to face off against the the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 2.

Oilers current netminder Calvin Pickard has been given consecutive starts and has put together several wins but the likelihood of Stuart skinner's return may happen sooner than later.

Oilers reporter reveals complicated decision facing Knoblauch

During a recent episode of Oilersnation Everyday, Oilers reporter Jason Gregor asked with questions when many expect Skinner to return to the net and what circumstances would lead to the change of Pickard to Skinner.
"Even the head coach said it, like, hey, I think Skinner's going to start at some point he just didn't know when." - @JasonGregor

Gregor feels the decision would happen during a couple of situations which includes one bad game by Pickard who has not played in a consecutive string of games in quite some time in the regular season where fatigue could be setting in.
He also mentions that after Skinner returned in last year's playoffs after being sat for a few days to a week, he was fantastic and only allowed two goals or less during his last 15 games which extended right to the Stanley Cup finals.
Gregor thinks that the Oilers would be wise to keep Pickard in the rotation, giving Stuart Skinner rest especially if the Oilers go on another long run this year.

Knoblauch states Pickard is enjoying his moment

Oilers head coach Kris Knoblauch spoke after practice about the state of Pickard and feels that he is enjoying the moment having been given consecutive starts and becoming the number one goaltender for the time being.
"He's been through a long stretch of getting to where he wants to get... His personality of being a good guy, he works extremely hard & is just enjoying the moment." Coach Knoblauch on how Calvin Pickard is handling being the #Oilers
starter.

After a long stretch as the third string goalie for the Oilers now becoming the starter has certainly helped give Pickard his confidence a boost as he reiterated during an interview on Sportsnet with Colby Armstrong.
Pickard along with the rest of the Oilers will be ready to take on the Golden Knights and have a 2-0 start in the series before it switches back to Rogers Place in Edmonton for the weekend.
Game 2 will start at 9:30 PM eastern on May 8th.
