Zach will, unfortunately, not be able to join us for our home opener. We're thinking, guideline, probably around November 1. So maybe a little bit earlier, maybe a little bit later, but around that timeline.

Zach Hyman returns to ice to ramp up training after injury and surgery
According to a new update from Oilers insider Jason Gregor, Hyman has returned to main practice and seems to be progressing well through shooting and stick handling drills.
Hyman is still weeks away from building up strength to return to the Oilers lineup, but progression with shooting is a significant development for his return. When discussing his injury earlier, Hyman said shooting was the final stage he needed to reach before being deemed clear to return.
Shooting is the last progression for me, but I'm feeling really good out there and doing everything that I'm supposed to be doing. Stick-handling, passing, all the fun stuff. So all is on track.

Missing Zach Hyman for the first month of the season will be a challenge for the Oilers who are looking to buck a bad trend and get off to a hot start this season.
However, they should be able to survive his absence, and will be stronger when he finally enters the lineup. This appearance at practice is a positive sign that he's not too far away from joining the team.
