The 40 year old infamous pest became a key piece of the Oilers lineup and leadership in his 2 seasons with Edmonton, and he backed it up with great games in playoffs. Then he shockingly left to sign with the Los Angeles Kings this offseason.

After the first period of Game 4, the Edmonton Oilers found themselves down 3-0 and on the ropes in the series entirely.
Then Corey Perry absolutely layed into his teammates, and the momentum of the game entirely changed.

The Oilers immediately stormed back to score 3 goals in the second period, and came back to win the game 5-4 in overtime. It tied the series at 2-2, a critical point in the Cup Final.
The Oilers didn't get the job done in the series, but the leadership on display from Perry here and its effectiveness is undeniable. At 40 years old with 1392 NHL games played and a Stanley Cup ring, he's one of the few players that can truly yell at the Oilers superstars.
Perry was clearly a key figure in the Oilers locker room, and it will sting to lose him this season and in the playoffs.
