The Edmonton Oilers have a clear weakness at the goaltending position, and may still be exploring some additions as the season approaches.
Edmonton Oilers linked to signing Marc Andre Fleury by multiple NHL insiders
NHL insiders have revealed that some teams are still in discussion with the legendary retired goaltender, including the Edmonton Oilers.
Oilers analyst Allan Mitchell of the Athletic also reported the team's interest in signing Fleury.
Marc-Andre Fleury is still on the radar for all Stanley Cup contenders, via Pierre LeBrun, and it would make a lot of sense for the Oilers. NHL history is rich with stories of retired goaltenders re-entering the battle and performing brilliantly.

Things may have changed now that the Oilers have acquired goaltender
Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth - but the Edmonton Oilers still aren't ruling out another addition to their crease.
Even if the Oilers aren't the one to sign him, it appears that a comeback may still be in the cards for Marc-Andre Fleury with the interest he's received from NHL teams.
Fleury has already completed his retirement tour, and even signed a one-day contract to retire as a Penguin. However, there's clearly still noise about a potential comeback already.
Now 40 years old, Fleury had a legendary career. He'll be one of the last goalies ever to play in 1000+ games, won 3 Stanley Cups, a Vezina Trophy, and is revered throughout the league as a leader. If he retires now, he's going out as one of the top goalies of the modern era.
