Goaltender Connor Ingram made his debut in the Oilers organization with an AHL start yesterday, and posted exceptional results.
Connor Ingram excels in Oilers organization debut
Playing against the San Jose Barracuda in his first start yesterday, Ingram saved 21 of 22 shots to lead the Bakerfield Condors to a 2-1 win. He was stellar, and made timely saves to keep the Condors ahead.
The only goal Ingram did allow came on a 2-on-1 rush chance against. He was beat on a hard wrist shot to the blocker side, but it's hard to be perfect.
The Oilers should have high hopes for Ingram reviving his career in Edmonton. Just two seasons ago, Ingram posted an impressive .907 save percentage in 50 games with the Coyotes and looked like a merging starter.
Still just 28 years old, he could thrive with a fresh start. Oilers fans and the organization will be closely watching his results in the AHL.
Ingram shows off personalized Edmonton Oilers mask, hinting at roster move
It's an interesting mask design and looks to be highly personal if it's hand-drawn with some important names. Judging by the fact it's an Oilers mask and not a Condors one, it also suggests there is a plan to call him up back to Edmonton soon.
Hopefully Ingram keeps up this level of success in Bakersfield, and he'll earn the confidence of management quickly for a call-up.
