NHL insider Elliotte Friedman is reporting multiple teams have trade interest in goalie Jeremy Swayman of the Boston Bruins, who would be a perfect fit for the Oilers.

Insiders have confirmed this year that the Oilers will be seeking to make an upgrade in net this offseason. Jeremy Swayman would certainly fit the category.

Jeremy Swayman drawing trade interest from NHL teams, per Elliotte Friedman

On the most recent edition of the 32 Thoughts Podcast, Elliotte Friedman revealed the Bruins are receiving calls on Swayman, but it's undecided if they will move him yet.
I've been talking to some teams who might need some goaltending, or have been looking around goaltending. I do think there are going to be teams that call the Bruins about Swayman, and his no-move doesn't kick in for another year.

- Elliotte Friedman
Swayman had a very difficult season with the Bruins after he held out into training camp to get his 8 year, $8.25M/yr deal. Like many other RFAs that held out, Swayman struggled after missing training camp - and the Bruins regressed to last in their division.
Through 58 games last season Swayman posted a poor .892 save percentage, which is below Stuart Skinner. By MoneyPuck's GSAx rating, Swayman was the 12th worst goalie in the league last year.
Swayman posted a .916 and .920 save percentage in the previous two seasons respectively, and won the Jennings trophy in 2022-23. Last season was a massive drop off, and probably an anomaly.

Could Edmonton Oilers buy low on Jeremy Swayman in trade?

There's clear reasons to believe the 26 year old goalie can bounce back to his previous elite numbers. He's also already locked into a long-term contract before the cap rises and has previously shown ability to be a star goalie.
Boston may still choose to keep Swayman before his no-trade clause kicks in, but if the Bruins struggle again next season and find themselves closer to rebuilding than contending, perhaps they do cut Swayman.
It could be a risky move for the Oilers as well, but also bring a high reward of a young, elite starting goalie. If Swayman becomes available, the Oilers surely will be interested.
