Edmonton Oilers GM takes bizarre action at final moments of free agency day

The Edmonton Oilers made almost no additions to their team in free agency, but were clearly trying to work on a move as GM Stan Bowman pushed back his press conference 4 times.
Originally slated to speak to the media at 5:00, Bowman's media availability has now been delayed several times - and it's clear they've got something they're working on urgently.

According to OilersNation, the team has just confirmed another delay to the GM's availability.
After the constant delays, the press conference has now been formally cancelled.
Hopefully, Bowman has a much more significant addition in the hopper that's holding up their formal end of year media.
Oilers insider Jim Matheson is speculating the team could be deep in talks with forward Andrew Mangiapane, and that could be the reason behind the hold up.
Signing or trading for another middle six winger like Mangiapane makes the most sense after losing
Evander Kane,
Viktor Arvidsson,
Connor Brown, and
Corey Perry in trade and free agency. The Oilers have a dire need for a value contract on their wings, and Mangiapane could be a player to move up the lineup and provide surplus value.
Hopefully a move is announced soon, or at the very least, Bowman can get to the podium and out the first day of free agency to rest. There will still be plenty of options left tomorrow.
