The Edmonton Oilers put up a dominant effort against the Vancouver Canucks last night, but soon their roster will be even better.
The story of last night's game was the Oilers depth completely controlling play against the Canucks through the course of the game. Superstar
Leon Draisaitl said that Edmonton was simply a better team - and he was entirely correct.
Edmonton Oilers will soon gain significant reinforcements to the lineup
The Oilers already have an incredibly deep roster, and will be soon facing some difficult decisions when more players return - but their team will become much better.
Watching last night's dominant effort, Oilers fans were remembering this roster will soon add
Zach Hyman,
Jake Walman, and
Jack Roslovic soon. The depth of this roster will be truly overwhelming for most teams.
All four Oilers lines were firing last night and winning their minutes handedly - even
Noah Philp's 4th line had a standout effort.
When two of these quality depth forwards are removed for upgrades in Hyman and Roslovic, the team will be even more of an offensive powerhouse.
Oilers analyst Bruce Curlock believes that adding these players will be a major boost to their team defence as a whole, and may be the best group in the NHL.
It's a group including plenty of veteran forwards, a good amount of youth, and a complete blue line. With the experience of the last 2 playoffs, the core players are at their absolute peaks.
When this Oilers team is fully healthy and playing at the level they did against the Canucks, they may be the best group in the NHL entering this year.
