The Edmonton Oilers full season schedule has officially been unveiled, as well as the reveal of which 3 Oilers games will not be broadcast on Sportsnet.
Sportsnet sold a portion of their exclusive broadcasting rights to Amazon, who debuted with Monday Night Hockey on their streaming service last season, and now it's set to return.
3 Oilers games not on Sportsnet revealed for upcoming 2025-26 season
Prime has fully announced their schedule of games for this season today, which will include three Oilers games: November 10th vs Columbus, December 29th at Winnipeg, and January 26th vs Anaheim.
Out of all Canadian teams, the Oilers have the second-least amount of games on Prime this year. The Leafs lead the pack with 6 games, and the Flames have just 1. Here's how many games each team will play.
Toronto Maple Leafs -six
Ottawa Senators - six
Vancouver Canucks - four
Montreal Canadiens - four
Winnipeg Jets - four
Edmonton Oilers - three
Calgary Flames -two
The drill for fans will be the same as last year's - a subscription to Prime Video will be required to watch the game, and it'll have to be set up to a smart TV.
For a few reasons, the rollout of NHL on Prime caused some headaches last year. It's a nuisance to have any deviation from the norm of games on TV, and surely that did block out some fans from watching. Oilers fans in particular love their home broadcast crew of Jack Michaels too, who gets put on the shelf for Prime games.
On the other hand, some fans truly liked the new experience and switch up from Sportsnet. It's first years overall a success, and may open the door to more streaming deals in the future.
