To the NHL trade deadline less than 10 days away, names continue to pour in throughout the web and from NHL insiders on who the Oilers are linked to and who they show interest in. A new name has now emerged whose name has made a few turn their heads.

NHL insider Darren Dreger has named Tyler Toffoli as a player of interest for the Oilers who is currently playing for the New Jersey Devils. Tofolli, a former Calgary Flame is in his second season with the Devils, is in his final year of his deal and holds cap hit of $4.2 million.

He would certainly be a major upgrade to the Oilers top six as they had been struggling to find consistency with that position as Evander Kane is not finding his game. Inserting Toffoli into the top 6 would give Leon Draisaitl or Connor McDavid another weapon to pass to as he has a great shot and accuracy.

With some salary retention, and a prospect and draft pick it's certainly possible that general manager Tom Fitzgerald of the Devils would be willing to make the deal as Tofolli will be an unrestricted free agent.
