The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings met up for a pre-playoff matchup that saw some media chirps from Philip Danault, and now the Oilers have responded.

In an intermission interview, Philip Danault said that the Oilers dressed their B-team with the intention of hurting the Kings before playoffs. Now, the Oilers organization has responded.

Oilers organization singles out Kings forward Philip Danault after ignorant comments

On a Instagram post of Danault's comments, the Oilers organization dropped a single emoji that served as the perfect response: a clown.
Danault's comments about the Oilers having a second squad on the ice was correct, but only he took it as malicious intent from the Oilers.
Everyone else knows that the Oilers are dealing with a multitude of injuries heading into the playoffs, and had to make the decision to scratch players to be healthy for the postseason. Corey Perry in particular was shocked by the comments.
It's awesome to see the Oilers organization back the players and fans sentiment by poking back at Danault's comments. With four playoff series in a row, there's now some real personal animosity between the players and the fans in this developing rivalry.
The Kings will be incredibly motivated to finally get their lick back against the Oilers this season. Edmonton will be in for a tough test to defend their dominance.
Leaning into the chirps on both sides will make this playoff series and this postseason the awesome rollercoaster that it is. There's no better time in hockey than the excitement of the playoffs starting.
