The Edmonton Oilers will be taking on the San Jose Sharks in their final game of the regular season tonight, with Connor McDavid expected back in the lineup.
The Oilers are still dealing with a slew of injuries and won't see any others re-join the lineup yet, other than McDavid who was held out for precautionary reasons.
Edmonton Oilers reveal lineup before final regular season game against San Jose
According to Oilers insider Tony Brar at practice, the like combinations for tonight are as follows:
The Oilers will be running back the same lineup as last game against Los Angeles, but with Connor McDavid returning to the lineup.
McDavid currently sits at 99 points on the season, and clearly will be looking to get 100 on the season for the 8th time in his career.
The Captain is also playing on a new line that's had some great success in the last few games. McDavid has 9 assists in his last three games,
Connor Brown has 4 goals
In addition,
Stuart Skinner will get the final start in goal. The Oilers will be looking for him to have a strong start, and build some momentum heading into the playoffs.
Despite the Oilers calling up defenceman
Connor Carrick, he will be ineligible to play because of NHL emergency recall rules. So, for the final game of the season, the Oilers will roll out with only 5 defenceman.
Hopefully the Oilers can just get through tonight's meaningless game healthy, get McDavid his 100th point, and build some confidence heading into a crucial Game 1 in Los Angeles.
