The Edmonton Oilers are back at practice today, and have provided 2 devastating injury updates on Jack Roslovic and Kasperi Kapanen.

Kapanen stormed off yesterday's practice as he appeared to suffer an injury setback while nearing his return. Jack Roslovic was absent after blocking a shot against Dallas. Several other Oilers are injured too, and only Janmark seems to be nearing a return.

Edmonton Oilers provide major injury update on Roslovic, other players

According to an update from Coach Knoblauch after today's practice, Roslovic will miss several weeks with injury. Kapanen is week-to-week, and Jake Walman's timeline is basically indefinite.
Noah Philp is still on LTIR as well, and Kapanen hasn't been taken off LTIR - which indicates he's a while away from returning.
With Roslovic, Kapanen, Philp, and Walman absent with injury, the Oilers had to slightly adjust their lines. Mangiapane has been promoted to the 2nd line, and Janmark is entering the lineup on the 3rd line.
To lose Jack Roslovic is simply a devastating injury for the Oilers after he's emerged as one of the most consistent and effective forwards on the team. Joining the Oilers without a training camp, Roslovic has become red-hot with 18 points in 23 games. With Edmonton hurting for any sort of offence, losing their biggest secondary scorer is brutal.
Given that Roslovic left the ice after taking a shot to his hand, and is ruled out for several weeks, it's likely there was a fracture.
Kapanen's injury is incredibly frustrating after he was nearing a return, but Walman's injury is also growing frustrating for a different reason. Walman was initially listed as day to day, and now still isn't skating with the team after more than a week.
At no point this season have the Oilers had all of McDavid, Draisaitl, Nuge, Hyman, and Roslovic in the lineup. There's hope this season could be turned around once the Oilers are healthy, but they're facing major setbacks with repeated injuries to important players.
