Oilers coach Knoblauch drops major injury update on all players before Game 1 of playoffs

The Edmonton Oilers appear to be limping into the playoffs with tons of injuries, but Coach Knoblauch is now saying that all players but Ekholm will be available.
In the last few days, the Oilers have seen 9 different players be ruled out of the lineup with some form of injury or illness. Health looked like a major concern, but the Oilers aren't worried.

When speaking to the media today, Coach Knoblauch seemed to confirm that every player will be available to play in round one except for Mattias Ekholm.
We believe that all the guys we have on our injury reserve will be joining us in playoffs, most of them for Game 1. Everyone but Mattias Ekholm.

Obviously, this is a fantastic sign for the Edmonton Oilers. For tonight's game against the San Jose Sharks, the Oilers will be icing a lineup that looks more like a preseason game than a playoff lineup.
Based on Knoblauch's comments, the Oilers should have Leon Draisaitl, Trent Frederic, Evander Kane, Zach Hyman, Jake Walman, Troy Stecher, and Josh Klingberg available for Game 1.
If all of them can be available for Game 1 of the playoffs, especially including Frederic and Kane, the Oilers will go from looking like a preseason lineup to one of the deepest teams in the NHL.
As long as the Oilers are healthy enough to stand up for another tough 4 rounds of playoff hockey, they've got the talent and motivation to make it back to the Cup Final - and get a better result this time around.
