In the recent episode of Got Yer Back podcast, TSN's Ryan Rishaug spoke to Jason Strudwick about the set back with Oilers forward Trent Frederic coming back too early on a high ankle sprain.

Six seconds into his 1st shift as an Edmonton Oiler, Frederic began to labour on his ankle and looked in pain as he threw a body check, and many felt that he was brought back too early.

Strudwick explained how long a high ankle sprains takes to heal

Rishaug asked Strudwick how long an injury like a high ankle sprain would take to fully heal and he stated that it can take up to one year before you are fully healed and ready to go as they are one of the trickier injuries to overcome.
Both pundits felt that Frederic looked in pain throughout the game despite staying in the game. They also noticed that his type of game is exactly what the Oilers needed when they traded for him as his physicality almost helped the Oilers score a goal.
Fans of the team have been itching to see what he could bring to the table for the team after the Oilers acquired him days before the NHL trade deadline in a complicated three-way trade where the team parted with a pair of prospects, Shane Lachance and Max Wanner, and a pair of picks. A physical edge, some offence, a way to get under the opponents skin and the ability to drop the mitts were all appetizing and what the team was in need of. - Zach Laing

Head coach Kris Knoblauch also gave his take on Frederic and his state of health.
«I couldn't comment on where he is, or exactly how he's feeling right now,» said Oilers coach Kris Knoblauch, whose team had a day off Sunday with the last game of the road trip in Anaheim Monday.

«We definitely want to be cautious. There's a difference between regular-season and playoffs (when everybody plays hurt). Kris Knoblauch

Oilers look to find their offense after disappointing to the Kings

So far in this road trip, the Oilers have gone 2-1 over their past three games and look to take on the Anaheim Ducks closeout their western road swing.
The team who are currently struggling with several injuries including Connor McDavid, Mattias Ekholm and Leon Draisaitl are all trying to overcome these losses and trying to pile as many points as possible to lock up home ice against the Los Angeles Kings.
There is still an outside chance that the Oilers could catch the Vegas golden Knights
but those odds are slowly diminishing.
Next game will take place on Monday April 7th and it will be at 10:30 PM eastern.
