Oilers insider comments on validity of leak showing new alternate jersey

The jersey began spreading online amongst Oilers fans last night, showing a white-based jersey featuring a new text logo.

Insider Tom Gazzola originally revealed that the Oilers would be introducing a new alternate jersey this season, and got a peek at the jersey earlier this year.

When asked if the leaked jersey lines up with what he's seen, Gazzola confirmed it was a match. It appears the leak is true, and this will be the Oilers' New Jersey.

Thankfully, Oilers fans won't have to wait too long to see the New Jersey officially be unveiled.

The Oilers are holding a Fan Event on September 20th where the jersey is expected to be revealed, and likely put on sale in the team store.

Unfortunately though, these jerseys may not be a regular occurrence in the team's rotation this year. Gazzola also implied the jersey will make its on-ice debut on January 30th, more the halfway through the season.

The jersey design is a completely new look for the team all in positive ways for an alternate jersey. The white base colour works well with the shoulder and sleeve pipings, and the Oilers' colours always look great together. The all-text logo is a bold choice for the team, but looks great.
