Top Oilers insider reveals terms on two new contract extensions for Edmonton
Oilers insider reveals expected terms for 2 major contract extensions incoming
I'd have a better handle of who the Oilers might be going out and acquiring. You know, who they might get extended. I could see Jake Walman getting a six-year extension at some point in the sixes. I could see that happen. Maybe Podkolzin gets a three-year.

Initial reports suggested that the Oilers could extend an 8 year contract to Jake Walman to keep his annual salary lower. By signing him for only 6 with the rising salary cap, his annual value could be higher than expected.
Now 29 years old, Walman fit in seamlessly to the Oilers lineup since being acquired at the trade deadline from the San Jose Sharks. A strong two-way player with a physical presence, Walman will be a key piece to the Oilers left side for years to come.
Vasily Podkolzin in line for multi-year contract extension, per report
Signing Vasily Podkolzin to a moderate-term deal prior to this season also could be a smart move, as the young Russian forward has been pegged as a breakout candidate.
Like Walman, Podkolzin immediately found a fit in the Oilers' lineup as a complimentary player to
Leon Draisaitl last season - and even found himself driving a 3rd line in the playoffs.
His offensive totals have been weak so far, but he could take a big leap forward considering he's only 24. Even if Podkolzin doesn't score, he's valuable in his contributions.
Hopefully the Oilers can get these deals completed in the coming weeks, and lock in two key pieces to their depth for years to come.
