Former Edmonton Oilers forward Klim Kostin
has officially announced that he'll be returning to the KHL for the rest of this season.
Klim Kostin officially signs with KHL team on 1 year contract
The 26-year-old signed a contract for the remainder of the season with the KHL's Omsk Avangard on Monday.
Kostin won the Gagarin Cup with Omsk during the 2020-21 season.

Kostin only played the 2022-23 season in Edmonton, but he became a beloved fan favourite for Oilers fans.
The young Russian forward brought an imposing physical presence to the ice every night, and was even able to register a career best offensive season of 11 goals and 21 points in 57 games.
Perhaps most importantly, Kostin's pure love for the city of Edmonton came through with every interview and the effort he gave every game.
You guys probably can't even imagine how proud I am to be on the team and play for you guys. It's just amazing.
- Klim Kostin
Unfortunately, Kostin's last few years in the NHL just never recaptured the highs of his Oilers tenure. In the last 2 seasons with the San Jose Sharks, Kostin only registered 17 points and was deployed mostly as a fighter.
Hopefully he finds some comfort in returning home, and can continue his pro hockey career there.
