Oilers backup goalie Calvin Pickard is now emerging as their full time playoff starter, and had a few hilariously humble and confident comments following a pivotal Game 5 win.
Pickard is now 3-0 in the playoffs this season with two stellar performances in the last two games, and it seems the Oilers will stick with him over Stuart Skinner.

It's incredible to see the momentum any goalie can give their team and how solid runs can come from anyone - including a 33 year old journeyman like Pickard.
After the game, Oilers reporter Mark Spector asked Pickard if he's surprised that he's found himself as a playoff starter.
SPECTOR: You're not the backup now, you're the starter, and you'll no doubt start the next game. At your age, with what you're doing in this season, does it all seem a little surreal?
PICKARD: You asked me the same question last year, I feel like.

Reminding the media that he played playoff games last year, Pickard showed confidence in his ability while shutting down any thought that this was out of reach. Also, his teammates probably liked a chirp at Spector.
In another postgame interview, Pickard joked that this playoff series has taken years of his life with stress. It's good to see he's still keeping things light too.
