While walking out of the Kings' arena after Game 2, McDavid and Draisaitl were seen getting taunted by Kings fans with jeers for
Stuart Skinner. McDavid smirked as he walked by, as Kings fans poked the bear.
Since that moment after Game 2, Connor McDavid has dialled into another level to scored 6 points in the three games, while the Oilers roar back to take a series lead.
In last night's game even, McDavid was seen giving it back to Kings fans. The Oilers captain was making faces at the crowd, and went straight up to the glass to get in their faces as Kings fans continued to boo.
McDavid has always been a more quiet and reserved person, and it's incredibly rare to see him interact with opposing fans like this in game. He clearly was personally motivated to beat LA.
Connor McDavid leads Edmonton Oilers on and off ice to playoff comeback
Heading into the playoffs, McDavid was vocal about some of the doubts around the Oilers and again when they were down 0-2. Through it all, McDavid insisted that the Oilers still have more to give, and they're never out of a series.
The captain turned out to be exactly right. Before Game 5 the Oilers had come back to tie the series without truly turning in their best effort.
Last night, although the score may have been close,
the Oilers took the brakes off
the Kings. According to NHL analyst Mike Kelly, it was the most lopsided playoff game by scoring chances in 9 years.
The Oilers have found their formula for winning in the playoffs once again, and now just need to secure one more to clinch their berth to the second round.
They're looking more like a seasoned playoff team ready for any challenge that could arise through another 4 rounds, and they're led by the best 2 players in hockey.
