With the Oilers set to begin a 7-game road trip, several key players need to be considered for the team's momentum to continue.

In its come-from-behind win against Columbus, a number of players contributed in big ways in the next 7 games away from home.

Oilers find physicality when needed most

Trent Frederic had his first fight of the year the other night, and with it provided much-needed intensity. The team responded by eliminating a 2-goal deficit to secure a win.
Of course, he can't be expected to fight every game; but he does need to increase his physicality and lead the charge. The occasional goal won't hurt, either.
Connor McDavid was a key factor against Columbus. He has repeatedly said that he needs to be more selfish, as he was against the Blue Jackets.
He carried the puck more, took more shots, and scored two goals. It's that kind of mentality that will inspire his team, driving the puck to the slot and challenging defensemen. When does that, the team wins mor often than not.
Jack Roslovic has been one the Oilers best players this year, with 7-points in the last 7-games, and 10-points (4G, 6A) on the season, including the OT winner against the Blue Jackets.
As a fixture on the top-6 forward group, Roslovic must continue to keep pace with the team's top-centremen. If he does that, the Oilers have a good chance of winning games.
There isn't much I can say about Stuart Skinner that hasn't already been said, but we must look at the positives.
Skinner flat-out stopped Charlie Coyle on a 2-on-1 in overtime, saving the game and allowing for Roslovic's OT heroics against Columbus.
If he builds his confidence from that one spectacular save and win, and provides the team with timely saves, the Oilers might be able to string together a winning streak.
Which brings me to my last point. This coming road-trip is critical for Edmonton, and has the look of a make or break situation. If they win 4 games, they'll improve to 11-6-4.
If they lose... well, let's not think of that. The Oilers are more than capable of returning to Rogers Place with a winning record, if they stick to the script, beginning tonight in Philadelphia.
