The Edmonton Oilers goaltending still remains as a hot-button issue for the team, and there could finally be a trade for a true upgrade this season.

Stuart Skinner is still on the hot seat this season, currently holding a brutal .889 save percentage. As a whole at even strength, the Oilers have the worst save percentage in the NHL - even though they're 11th in Hugh Dangers Scoring Chances Against.

NHL insider reveals shocking expected price for Predators goalie Juuse Saros

As Oilers goaltending flounders again, fans are looking around the league for potential options for an upgrade in trade. One option that's repeatedly come up is Juuse Saros, the longtime starter of the struggling Nashville Predators.
According to a new update from NHL insider Frank Seravalli, the price to acquire Saros might be much lower than expected. In fact, Saros' deal may be seen as a net negative entirely.
Is there a price to that acquisition? Yes, we know the goaltending market is thin. This is just my view the Nashville Predators should have to pay YOU to take on Juuse Saros' deal.

- Frank Seravalli
The 30 year old Saros still holds a reputation of being one of the NHL's star goalies, but he's struggled massively in recent seasons. Through 14 games this year he's posted an .892 save percentage, down from an .896 in 58 games last year.
Prior to the last two years on a declining Predators team though, Saros posted a save percentage below .914 just once in 8 seasons. He was truly one of the NHL's best, most consistent goalies.
Signed with a cap hit of $7.74M until 2032-33, his contract carries a significant amount of risk to any team acquiring him, especially if he can raise his game again. Not only that, but it'd be extremely difficult to fit that salary into the Oilers' roster.
If the trade price is incredibly low to acquire Saros, and the front office truly believes he can find his form again on a more successful team, perhaps the Oilers could make a move for the veteran goaltender. Without a cheap acquisition cost, it may just not be worth the risk.
