GM Stan Bowman comments on Oilers goaltending situation don't look good
The Edmonton Oilers had significant questions around their goaltending heading into this year's playoffs, and with Skinner's early struggles, GM Stan Bowman's comments look pretty ugly.
For this entire season, many Oilers fans including have been heavily advocating for a goalie acquisition. All year, Stan Bowman backed their current tandem.

Skinner struggled throughout the year and finished the season with an .896 save percentage, with more poor rankings across the board. When asked about needing to address the goaltending, Bowman never said it was a priority.
It's just the randomness of fans or the media. I just look at: How is he performing? From November on, he's been very consistent. He's been a very good goalie. Goalies always have a goal here and there you don't like.
Well, we're going to look at every option for improving. But I would say no. That's not a big issue with our team.

Like many others around the Oilers at the moment, Bowman has often pointed to the fact that Skinner allows goals on high danger scoring chances.
The Oilers defence could perform better, but they need to get some saves at some point too. So far in this year's playoffs,
Stuart Skinner ranks last among all goalies.
Calvin Pickard should start Game 3 for Edmonton, and hopefully, he can give the Oilers a good chance to get back into this series. If he does, Skinner may not see the net again for a while.
