The Edmonton Oilers are now trialing their playoff series against the Kings 0-2, and fans were letting McDavid and Draisaitl hear it outside the arena post-game.
LA Kings fans record taunting Oilers stars outside arena post game
In a video posted by some Kings fans last night,
Connor McDavid and
Leon Draisaitl are seen walking out of Crypto arena while fans continue the Skinner chants. McDavid even cracked a smile.
It's wild to see McDavid crack a smile at the jeers while being down 0-2 in the series, but interactions with fans in public are always a wild card. McDavid in particular has always been very awkward interacting with fans.
If anything, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl would take an event like this as motivation to beat Los Angeles. The Kings put up a great performance on home ice, but the Oilers have a hostile barn themselves in Oil Country.
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl appear locked in before returning to Edmonton
Late in last night's game, both Draisaitl and McDavid looked entirely dejected on the bench. They've been dominant so far, but need to dig even deeper to pull the Oilers to the second round.
The Oilers got punched in the mouth in Los Angeles, but the series isn't over yet. They'll need to take two games in Edmonton to get themselves right back in it, and with Oil Country behind them, it's surely possible.
