Vegas Golden Knights announce injury updates on top scorer and defenceman

The Vegas Golden Knights played Game 1 heavily shorthanded by missing their top scorer Pavel Dorofeyev and top defender Alex Pietrangelo, and both may miss Game 2 as well.
Dorofeyev has been reported to be unlikely to play this series at all, but Alex Pietrangelo is reportedly dealing with an illness. However, both players got good news today.
Pietrangelo and Dorofeyev both could miss Game 2, but return to practice
According to reporters speaking to coach Bruce Cassidy at practice today, Dorofeyev has been ruled out of Game 2. Pietrangelo is a game-time decision, which means he'll probably play.
More importantly for Vegas, both players were able to return to practice and begin skating today. If they make a return as soon as possible, it will significantly raise their chances in the series.
With Pietrangelo sick and likely returning tonight, the real absence felt will be Dorofeyev. The Russian forward scored 35 goals this season and was instrumental in their power play success. It's tough to keep the Oilers to a low-scoring game, so his lost offence is heavily felt.
Edmonton Oilers depth is overwhelming the Vegas Golden Knights
At the same time, the return of both of these players may do nothing for Vegas. The Edmonton Oilers are playing every shift as a cohesive 5 man unit and dominating with all four lines rotating.
The Oilers are still missing Ekholm themselves, and will be even better if he can return in the third round.
Edmonton will be looking to nab another huge win tonight on the road in Vegas, and take the series back to Alberta with a chance to take a commanding series lead.
