There's a guy by the name of Jason Campo. He played for the North Bay Centennials when they went to the memorial cup.
He's a sled dog racer, and he was actually in a big race in Yukon in 2018. He fell off the sled and was temporarily knocked unconscious. One of the things that can happen is your dogs can take off on you. If your dogs take off on you, it's extremely serious. You can be left to die in the wilderness.
He talks about how whether you're the leader of the pack or your part of the pack, you don't survive unless you're all together. He credits his dogs, his pack, with making sure that he survived.

The analogy to the Oilers is pretty direct. They've got the superstars with
Connor McDavid and
Leon Draisaitl, but they'll need the entire supporting cast of players to play a key role if they're going to go on another long playoff run.
In Game 1 of the playoffs, that problem was pretty distinctly on display. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were dominant, but any other Oilers like struggled to generate anything.
This year's Oilers team isn't quite the same as the squad that went deep last season.
The returning players will know what they need to do for success, but new players will need to begin to get with the program and step up - or the Oilers won't survive.
