The Edmonton Oilers have announced a statement explaining that the fan involved in a medical emergency last night is safely at the hospital and in recovery.

The Oilers officially released a statement today, confirming the incident and wishing the fan a fast recovery.
It was a scary scene as a panicked commotion began, and then as players and the broadcast figured out it was a medical emergency occurring in the stands.
Oilers lead medical staff TD Forss drew praise from fans for his situational awareness to alert the referees to halt the game, allowing the time and space to attend to the emergency.
The Oilers staff also hopped over the boards to attend to the incident, truly heroic actions from them.
According to another story circulating online from an Oilers fan, they re-sold their tickets to a friend who was a doctor. They happened to be sitting next to the fan during the emergency, and immediately sprung into action to perform CPR.
It was a truly terrifying scene to begin an otherwise fantastic Battle of Alberta, and now it's great to find that the fan safely made it to hospital and is in recovery. The heroic actions of the medical staff to save his life were incredible.
