Vegas Golden Knights answer reasons behind playoff loss, reveal injuries
In terms of explaining the loss to the Oilers, Vegas's star players didn't have much of an explanation. Most chalked it up to bounces going Edmonton's way and insisting they were right in the games.
Losing in 5 games doesn't exactly signal a close series, and it wasn't. The Oilers controlled play for the vast majority of the series, and deserved the win - they didn't get bounces.
Two key players addressed their injuries, and more is being reported by NHL insiders.
Alex Pietrangelo confirmed he missed a game due to extreme illness,
Brayden McNabb confirmed he was playing hurt, and
Mark Stone confirmed he was injured by
Corey Perry.
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed on today's edition of 32 Thoughts that Vegas goalie
Adin Hill was also playing hurt in the series.
I think Hill was hurt after the game last night. Hill gutted it out, he really did. I had a couple more goalies reach out and tell me they suspected that's true.
- Elliotte Friedman
With so many injuries to key players, Vegas was banged up and against an undeniable Oilers team. All teams have players playing with injury, but the Oilers still dominated and were the last ones standing.
