The Kings recently got a number of injured players back into their lineup for the final games of the season, including Drew Doughty, Quinton Byfield, and Joel Edmundson - but they'll miss one forward.
Los Angeles Kings finalize playoff lineup before taking on Oilers in first round of playoffs
The Kings' finalized playoff lineup looks much better than their squad was last season.
The difference between last year and this year are vast for LA. They'll feature deadline acquisition Andrei Kuzmenko on the first line, Quinton Byfield now centring the second, former Oiler Warren Foegele on the third line, and Darcy Kuemper in net.
Last season, the Kings weren't nearly as deep - and they had the disaster of Pierre-Luc Dubois on the fourth line.
The only player that will be missing from the Kings lineup is grinder forward Tanner Jeannot, who has been ruled out as week to week. The Oilers will be honestly glad to miss the punishing physical forward.
The Oilers will be missing a much more significant player in Mattias Ekholm this season, so as of now, the health advantage is skewed towards Los Angeles.
Oilers will have to bring their best to beat revamped Los Angeles Kings team
With the added offence, internal player development, and new goaltending, the Kings are looking like a much improved team from last year.
For the Oilers to win this year, they'll have to have every depth player step up to play the best they can - and also have Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl bend the series to their will. With those two superstars, the Oilers will never be out of a playoff series.
