The fascinating offseason for the Toronto Maple Leafs has begun and it appears that Frank Seravalli of the dailyfaceoff.com thinks Mitch Marner will be moved this summer.

During an episode of the DFO Rundown podcast, Seravalli and Jason Gregor go over the possibility of the major changes that will be coming to the Maple Leafs which included a prediction of a 5% chance that Mitch Marner would return to the Maple Leafs next season.

The Leafs have told the fan base that they will not run back their core players as a group and will have all options on the table which include trading one or two of their core players. Captain John Tavares has said that wants to finish his contract with the Leafs which makes him all but unmoveable.

Marner may be willing to waive no move clause

Marner may be a little different as he holds a no move clause as well, but it seems recently his tone has softened as he may be wiling to entertain a move to another market according to Steve Koulaes.

This potential change of position by Marner could radically change the look of the Maple Leafs and the offseason as many teams will be lining up to try to acquire his services. Marner has been repeatedly criticized about his playoff performance but has had fantastic regular season numbers.

It remains to be seen on what will happen now that the Maple Leafs have hired Craig Berube as their head coach and see if that has any effect on their decisions going forward.
