Connor McDavid reveals real reason behind unusual Oilers practice

The Edmonton Oilers have yet to bring their best in the Stanley Cup Final, which led Connor McDavid to get the team on the ice for extra practices this week.
Some controversy stirred up yesterday when the Oilers took a full practice while telling the media that it'd be a day off, which gave the team a focused extra skate with no questions afterward.

When asked about the extra practice today, Connor McDavid was the only one to say that he felt the team needed an extra skate after a slow start to the Cup Final.
I don't think we've come out of the break feeling our best as a group, as a whole. So I thought it was good that we got a good practice in the other day, a little bit more work in yesterday, and a good morning skate today. Everyone should be feeling good.

While other team's stars may take an e tea day off at practice, the Oilers superstars are leading the way in getting their team to out in extra work at the most critical time.
Thinking back to McDavid's 'dig in' moment in the locker room last year, this has to be another one of those moments for the Oilers star. Tonight's Game 4 will be a critical turning point in the series, and the Oilers have yet to bring their best in the Cup Final.
The Oilers always have had a tendency to start slow after a break in games, and McDavid was the only one to point it out. Getting the team on the ice as much as possible to put in extra work and feel conditioned for a critical game may be the captain's doing.
Tonight in Florida, the Oilers have to play their game and not get dragged into the Panthers' antics - if they can bring their best for the first time in this Cup Final, they'll leave Florida with a tied series.
