The Edmonton Oilers are already entering next season with an incredibly deep roster, but still add more talent on tryout contracts.

The Oilers have already been linked to a reunion with former fan favourite Klim Kostin on a tryout contract, as the big Russian forward has yet to find a new deal elsewhere.

Edmonton Oilers linked to several targets for tryout contracts in training camp

Oilers analyst Preston Hodgkinson took a look at several candidates still looking for an NHL job - and only a few candidates really make sense for Edmonton.
One element the Oilers are currently missing in their bottom six is some physicality. After moving out Corey Perry and Evander Kane, adding some sandpaper in the 4th line for tougher matchups could come in handy.
Brett Leason, Klim Kostin, and Nathan Bastian all fit that mold, should the Oilers believe it to be necessary for their roster. Insider Bob Stauffer has repeatedly mentioned Leason, but Kostin has a great history of working well in Edmonton.
Looking at potentially adding a scoring forward, there still may be options available on PTOs. Hodgkinson identified Jakub Vrana, Max Pacioretty, and Kevin LaBanc as more potential signings.
Obviously these players aren't likely to reach the offensive highs they previously had in their careers, but they may be able to score more than Janmark's 2 goals.
On defence, the Oilers already have a bit of a logjam that could lead to one player departing the team in training camp. Should they look for another player though, Jon Merrill, Oliver Kylington, and Calvin DeHaan are unsigned.
At the end of the day, any of these players won't do much to sway the team's chances at a Stanley Cup - but they're pieces that could contribute to the right mix for the Oilers this season.
