Oilers insider Bob Stauffer has predicted at the organization will attempt to acquire third line centre JG Pageau during the offseason.

He explains during his podcast episode at his current organization the New York Islanders, is going through an organizational change as Lou Lamoriello has stepped aside as general manager and Matthieu Darche has taken over.

Pageau is right hand shot center who would help the Oilers next season

Stauffer believes at the Islanders will make him available as he holds a cap hit of $5,000,000 with one year remaining on his deal.
He has only played for two organizations during his entire career which began in 2012 after being drafted by the Ottawa Senators in 2011, fourth round 96th overall.
Last season, he played 79 games, scoring 14 goals with 28 assists for 42 points was a + 4 and had 23 penalty minutes.
Stauffer believes that the Oilers do not have this kind of player within the ranks of the Bakersfield Condors as Noah Philip is clearly not ready for this role it needs more time to develop.
With the Islanders looking for change, the Oilers have players and draft capital to offer in order to acquire Pageau. The Oilers will be looking to change their roster as well as they currently do not have enough cap space to sign Evan Bouchard to a new deal.

Oilers offseason will be busy like many NHL teams

This offseason will be one of the busiest in the NHL in recent memory as many feel that trades will be the main option for many teams to improve their position.
Coupled with the increase in the salary cap which is set for 92 million and will begin to climb exponentially over the coming few years will see teams try to add in which the Oilers will be part of it.
Until then, the Oilers are preparing for Game 4 down in Sunrise FL as they will look to bounce back from their drubbing of 6-1 and try to assert themselves back into the series before it switches back to Edmonton for Game 5.
