NHL Head Coach Takes Puck to The Head During Scrimmage: Injured
The New York Rangers' training camp has started, but it didn't begin smoothly for head coach Peter Laviolette. It's not because the players are out of practice or lacking motivation. Instead, something unfortunate happened. Arthur Staple of The Athletic recently reported that Laviolette got hit in the head by a puck and had to be helped off the ice by a trainer.
This unexpected event happened at the beginning of the second day of camp on Friday. As the Rangers' reporter mentioned, "Second #NYR camp group just started, and it seemed like Peter Laviolette got hit in the head by a puck. The trainer helped him to the room."
In the early stages of training camp, coaches usually focus on guiding players and refining strategies.
However, Laviolette unexpectedly faced a challenge. This incident reminds us that hockey is an unpredictable sport, and it takes not only tough players but also a resilient coaching staff.
Rangers fans will surely hope for a quick recovery for their head coach as the team gets ready for the upcoming season.
