Edmonton Oilers stars flipped out in locker room, held meeting during Utah Mammoth game
The Edmonton Oilers found themselves down 0-2 to the Utah Mammoth after the first period, which caused the locker room leaders to stand up for a speech.
The Oilers have been sputtering so far this season, and were being heavily outworked by Utah in the first period. Finally, some key players stood up and demanded more from their teammates.

Coach Knoblauch revealed that he told the locker room they'd made 16 turnovers during the first period - a number that shocked the Oilers leaders, and sparked an immediate discussion.

Mattias Ekholm were two of them, and after the game confidently said they can repeat that effort.
After this locker room meeting, the Edmonton Oilers came out to score 5 goals in the second period, and go on to dominate the game to secure the win.
Beginning right away in the second period, the Oilers began playing with more speed and hounding Utah on the attack. They didn't rely entirely on passing plays to get setup into the o-zone, but then started showing their skill when they were there.
This could be a turning point for the Edmonton Oilers to brush off the mediocrity of their play early this season. Led by the players, locker room meetings are always meaningful moments.
Last night was the first time in a while the Oilers looked like themselves and dominated the pace of play. Hopefully that keeps up, and revives their high flying offence.
