New Oilers forward Ike Howard just came to the team via trade from the Tampa Bay Lightning, but he's been wearing an Oilers jersey recently for another job.
Ike Howard played Mark Messier in upcoming documentary on Theo Fluery
Speaking to the media about joining the Oilers, Howard revealed that he's actually been playing Mark Messier in a film on the life of former Flames forward Theo Fleury. Howard, along with some of his Michigan teammates, all portrayed the Oilers.
It's a fun coincidence to see Howard already immersing in the Edmonton culture, like this trade was almost meant to be. Howard has even said that he watched every Oilers playoff game for the last two years, almost becoming a fan of the team and loving the way they've played.
I was so excited about this fit. I watched every Oilers playoff game the last couple of years. Just watching, it's such a high-pace, skilled, fast, work ethic first - kind of exactly my game. I think that's why this could be such a great fit and why I was really excited.

Isaac HowardIf Howard fits in with the Oilers half as much as he's excited to play for them, he'll be a great addition to the team. It's exciting to see a young American rising star thrilled to be playing in the city of Edmonton.
