Top Oilers analyst makes ridiculous prediction for new NHL lines this season

After a standout performance in the rookie series, analyst Mark Spector is projecting Matthew Savoie won't crack the Oilers NHL lineup.
Savoie has been the Oilers' top prospect since his acquired in trade last offseason. Last year he spent nearly the full year with the AHL's Bakersfield Condors and took noticeable strides in his game - but Spector doesn't see him sticking.

In a new article for Sportsnet, Mark Spector shared his projected lineup after judging the performances from Captain's Skates and the rookie series. Shockingly, his lineup had Savoie as the 14th forward.

Spector did give Savoie praise for his performance in the rookie tournament, but wasn't willing to go as far to call him a lock for the roster.

The team could favour veterans like Janmark, Henrique, and Lazar, but it would be a waste of a developing player in Savoie. By all metrics, the 21 year old forward looks ready for an extended look in the NHL. Oilers fans aren't too happy with Spector's projections.
The Oilers need to learn the lesson after failing to give Holloway and Broberg the space to thrive in their organization. Savoie looks ready for a look in the NHL, and has earned it after making improvements from a year in the AHL. He should be a sure fire add to the Oilers opening night lineup.
