The Edmonton Oilers have announced 7 players from their amateur tryout contracts following the conclusion of rookie camp.
The Oilers wrapped up their 2-game rookie series against the Flames last night, dropping both games to a deeper Calgary prospect system. The Oilers used each player on a tryout deal in the series.

Of all the players invited to Oilers rookie camp, none even earned a further invite for a look on the AHL squad.
Frankly, most players severely struggled, especially the defenceman. The Oilers relied on some of these players to fill out the roster, but don't match up to actual NHL prospects.
Edmonton Oilers not expected to sign any professional tryout contracts
As for NHL tryout contracts, the Edmonton Oilers will only have a few days left to make their final decisions on candidates. Players will report to Rogers Place on September 17th for medical.
There are some quality candidates around for the Oilers to pick up on a tryout. For some physicality on the 4th line, Klim Kostin could be an option. For goaltending, Ilya Samsonov is still available.
However, according to a recent report from Jim Matheson, the Oilers are unlikely to sign any players to PTOs. Even without adding any more players, the Oilers have a remarkably deep lineup with quality prospects close to making the leap, and could be used as in-season call ups.
The Oilers' final roster decisions will be made public in the coming days as training camp begins in just a few more days.
