Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl sustained another unfortunate injury against the San Jose Sharks, and has now revealed it was only uncalled dirty play that got him.

Leon Draisaitl is expected to miss the next few games for the Oilers, but is thankfully expected to return and be fully healthy before playoffs.

Leon Draisaitl reveals exactly which play caused his latest injury

In the game against the San Jose Sharks, Draisaitl seemed to be on the wrong end of several awkward falls and plays. There was significant concern that he may have re-aggravated an issue from his injury that held him out for three game prior.
However, speaking to Mark Spector, Leon Draisaitl revealed that it was the hit from Barclay Goodrow that led to an injury. The good news is that it seems like a different minor problem, and Draisaitl wasn't limping at all.
On the play, Goodrow caught Draisaitl in the side as the Oilers star tried to avoid the hit. Draisaitl's leg took the contact and went flying in the air, and he landed pretty hard on the ice as well.
Despite Draisaitl's protestations to the official, the referees elected not to call a penalty. It's a bush league hit from a grinder against a superstar just weeks away from the playoffs, and the refs not calling a penalty is inexcusable.
This injury will be devastating for the Oilers in the short term, and for Draisaitl's chances of securing another Hart Trophy. However, knowing he's back for the playoffs makes everything all the easier. With him in the lineup, they'll always have a chance of winning.
