The Edmonton Oilers will play game 1 against the Los Angeles Kings on the road tonight, and finally will see Trent Frederic in a full game.
Frederic had been named as a game-time decision earlier today, but according to Oilers reporters, all signs point toward him getting in the lineup.
Trent Frederic will finally play for the Edmonton Oilers
According to new reports from Sportsnet's Mark Spector, Trent Frederic is expected to play tonight, and
Josh Brown will get the nod as the game time decision.
Based on each player's role at practice, Spector believes that Frederic will be in on the third line right wing.
The only hope for the Oilers now is that Frederic can actually stay in a full game. In his Oilers debut, Frederic was in clear pain after his first shift, and only played 7 minutes.
He's clearly still battling through the injury and rushing back for Game 1, so his efficiency will be influence by how much he can manage the pain of his ankle.
Frederic was acquired to bring a little more toughness to the Oilers lineup and provide some secondary scoring.
Playing through the pain of his injury, hopefully Frederic can still make an impact in his real debut with the Oilers.
