Oilers insider reveals trade rumors heating up between Oilers and Red Wings

Oilers insider Bob Stauffer has revealed that trade rumors are heating up between the Edmonton Oilers and the Detroit Red Wings with Viktor Arvidsson heading to the Motor City.
Rumors have been swirling around Arvidsson as he would be the next likely to move from the Oilers roster and the player in return would be Red Wings forward Vladimir Tarasenko.
The Red Wings have just now traded Tarasenko to the Minnesota Wild for future considerations, opening up the cap space and roster spot to acquire Viktor Arvidsson.
Oilers looking for a change in their top nine forwards
Over the past couple of weeks, many have felt that the Oilers are looking for a change in their top nine forwards as Arvidsson has one year remaining on his contract worth $4 million per season.
Many pundits and fans feel that Arvidsson's time have come to an end with the Oilers and that the team needs to move on and find a replacement.
The 33-year-old Tarasenko has been a staple in the NHL since he was drafted in 2010 by the St Louis Blues, first round, 16th overall.
This past season he had played 80 games, scoring 11 goals with 22 assists for 33 points and was a - 13 playing 14 minutes and 47 seconds of average ice time.
Now that they've missed out on Tarasenko, they'll still clearly be looking for another fit for their bottom six. If they're anything like Tarasenko as a player, they may be looking for a sniper.
Bowman will be busy this summer with contracts and changes
It's certainly going to be a busy summer for general manager Stan Bowman as he revealed that he is continuously evaluating his team especially on the forward lines and his goaltending.
It's hard to predict on who will be gone and who will remain but it's safe to say that Arvidsson will be likely on another NHL team when training camp begins in September.
The free agent market will open on July 1st and the Oilers along with all other NHL teams will be ready to send the players their dollars.
