Oilers' forward reveals honestly what it's like behind closed doors in locker room

Speaking as one that has played on five teams over his NHL career, forward Jack Roslovic spoke about what makes Edmonton's locker-room so special.
When Roslovic scored the overtime winner against Columbus last night, it wasn't the GWG he talked about, but what it's like to be part of Edmonton's locker-room.
"The way the guys control the locker room is unlike I've seen anywhere else,» he said, referring to the team's culture. «It's really fun - everyone feels like they're pulling the rope together."
I imagine that positivity would have been doubly noticeable of late, given the media and fan hype surrounding the team, to witness how much his teammates actually care about winning and making the city of Edmonton proud.
«That's what makes this room special,» he said. «We create that standard every day, and you know we want to keep on pushing and getting better. Obviously, there are times when you know you're going to fall behind the way, but you know it's just getting back on the horse and doing things like we did tonight.»
Against the Blue Jackets, they did plenty right; but there is room for improvement, as there should always be if you want to get better. And much of that begins in the room, with your teammates and friends, talking honestly about what needs to change.
«You work on comebacks, you work on holding leads you create muscle memory, you create scar tissue,» he said. «That's how you know you can do things.»
Often, what happens on the ice, is a reflection of what goes on off the ice; the bond and the comradery - that which we don't see - strengthens the players, and supports them when things don't always go their way.
Having a strong foundation and culture can see a team through the bad times, and motivate it toward the good. With the one win, they can now look to the second.
