Oilers' Evan Bouchard received NHL warning after targeting injured Stars forward Roope Hintz

Throughout Game 4, the Edmonton Oilers have been targeting Dallas Stars star forward Roope Hintz as Evan Bouchard gave a small slash to his skates during the 1st period.
This slashing was the story of Game 2 in Dallas after Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse slashed Hintz on the leg which forced him to leave the game and miss Game 3.
Referees worked quickly and spoke to Bouchard before game
The referees did not take this lightly as they quickly notice the attempted slash and skated over to Bouchard and had a long conversation basically warning him not to attempt any further issues.
This added more animosity between both clubs as the Stars try to get back into the series and not go down 3-1 going back to their home rink.
Roope Hintz has had his share of injuries in his career and he's certainly a player that their team can't lose.
Stars forward Mason Marchment was asked prior to the game whether that slash to Hintz would carry over into Game 3 in which he replied yes and that players will take note and wait for an opportunity to presents itself.
Oilers looking stronger with each game in this series
This Western Conference finals is showing that the Oilers are coming together at the right time and that they appear to be getting stronger with every passing game.
The team has received the resurgence of goaltender Stuart Skinner who has looked fantastic throughout this series and in its previous series against the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Oilers are also getting secondary scoring which is help take pressure off Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl as head coach Kris Knoblauch is now rolling four lines.
That stranglehold on the series took place as moments ago the Oilers had won Game 4 by a score of 4-1 in which Skinner has only allowed two goals through three games.
The series now switches back to Dallas to which the Oilers can now closeout the series and move on to another trip to the Stanley Cup finals once again.
Game 5 is scheduled for Thursday May 29th game time will be at 8:00 PM eastern.
