Oilers forward Evander Kane has taken to social media to announce the birth of his daughter, and the stressful circumstances of her month long stay in NICU.
Evander Kane is currently gearing up for a return after missing the entire season with injury, hopefully for Game 1.

Kane posted photos on Instagram of the family welcoming home their daughter Penelope after 31 days stay in the hospital after her birth.
Evander thanked his wife for her love and attention through the scary ordeal of a newborn in the hospital, as well as thanks toward the fantastic doctors and nurses in the NICU in Edmonton.
It's great news to see that Penelope is out of the hospital healthy, and united with her family for the first time at home.
In Mara's own post on social media, she thanked Evander for being her rock through the process. It's great to see the family happy and healthy.
Evander Kane gearing up for playoff return after birth of daughter
Having a newborn baby in the hospital must have been an incredibly stressful situation for Kane while trying to hear up for a return in the playoffs.
Right now, the hope is that Kane could be ready for Game 1 after joining practice for well over a month. A conditioning stint in the AHL would be helpful for his return.
It's great news that Kane's family is healthy and have welcomed their baby daughter - now, he can put his full attention to hockey.
