Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid spoke during a postgame media scrum and spoke about his injury the extended absences by other Oilers players after the team beat the St Louis Blues 4-3.

McDavid has been absent from the lineup since he suffered a lower body injury on March 20th when they played the Winnipeg Jets and was not expected to play last evening. McDavid was a game time decision and decided to play and test himself.

Oilers have been dealing with injuries and illness McDavid stated

McDavid gave high praise for the Oilers medical staff who have been working overtime over the past couple of weeks as a series of injuries grew which saw Ryan Nugent Hopkins sitting out for last night's game.
We have a great medical staff here. I'm confident we'll get everyone ready to roll when it comes time. Everyone's kind of on their own path, trying to do whatever they can to get ready when it's real.

We've had to have guys step up through this injury bug and sickness bug. A lot of guys are stepping up and playing really good hockey and contributing.

McDavid was a factor in last night's game as he had three assists and helped his teammate Connor brown have a two-goal night.
He also spoke about the fact that he has been skating mostly on his own as there are not as many practices for the Oilers with the season set to close next week. He chose that last night's game was the game to play and that he was not taking anyone's spot.

Final week of the season upon the Oilers

The Oilers have four games remaining in their schedule which include two games against the San Jose Sharks along with the Los Angeles Kings and the Winnipeg Jets.
It's likely the team will continue to rest players as they prepare for the first round of the playoffs which they will face the Los Angeles Kings for the fourth year in a row.
The Oilers will be at home against the sharks and game time will be at 9:30 PM on April 11th.
