The Edmonton Oilers have announced the emergency recall of two more players, Derek Ryan and Cam Dineen, after suffering even more injuries.
Edmonton Oilers recall two players from AHL in emergency roster move
The Oilers took to social media to announce the recalls of the two veterans, who will likely get into play the Oilers game tomorrow against the Winnipeg Jets.
With the Oilers playing their second last road game in the first half of a back to back, it'll be another opportunity for the team to rest some players before playoffs.
The good news is that most of these players are expected to play Game 1 of the playoffs - with the exception of Trent Frederic, and perhaps Evander Kane and Mattias Ekholm.
Still, the Oilers will have to take a slew of current players currently in their lineup out before the playoffs. Some tough lineup decisions will be made over the next few days.
The long list of injuries is becoming a fair concern for the Oilers heading into the playoffs, and if their star players will be healthy enough to withstand another long playoff run. The last week of the season will be crucial for priming the group and having them ready to go for Game 1.
