It has taken longer than was hoped, but it seems that coach Knoblauch has found a winning formula in his Oilers' lineup, in particular on the top-line unit.

Captain speaks with media about playing with same linemates

I think it's important. It's so important. We've been flip-flopping like crazy all year long, and just to get something stabile throughout the lineup is so important. It's something we talk a lot about. It's not easy to build chemistry, it's not something that happens overnight. So to have a little bit of continuity, lines can start to meet and talk. I think you're starting to see that.

I'm excited about it. It's still great. See some family, have dinner with my parents before, and catch up with them. Saturday night, hockey night in Canada. Something I still get excited about.

- Connor McDavid

So much goes into a winning lineup that it's sometimes difficult to point to one thing for a team's success.
Except, during Edmonton's five-game homestand, despite the entire team playing well, it was the line of McDavid, Nuge, and Hyman that led the charge.
It was noticeable in the enthusiasm they showed when on the ice, and it showed all over the score sheet. In the last home-stand of five games, the line combined for a total of 23 points.
McDavid led the way with 5G and 7A, Nuge with 1G and 5A, and Hyman with 4G and 1A. getting that kind of production inspires even greater things, knowing what the line is capable of.
Over his last ten-game heater, Connor McDavid has recorded 18 points (7G, 11A).
What's more, the top-line trio are capable of even more, a proposition that is at once exciting for Edmonton and frightening for the opposition.
When the Oilers play the way they have been recently, it's easy to get excited.
Tnight's game versus the Leafs should be fun, and with McDavid playing in front of his family, expect to see him do big things.
