The Edmonton Oilers are on the ice in Toronto for morning skate, and have revealed their lineups with new players added to the roster.
The Oilers made a total of 3 NHL additions yesterday by trading for Tristan Jarry, Spencer Stastney, and calling up Riley Stillman. 2 of the new players will enter the lineup.
Tristan Jarry will start for Oilers, lineups confirmed vs. Maple Leafs
According to reporters at practice, the Oilers are expected to deploy the following lineup:
The top-six combinations will remain the same for the Oilers, as finally some continuity has developed with the forwards. The classic first line has been successful as usual, and the second line with Savoie is developing some chemistry too.
Trent Frederic will be bumped to the third line, while Mangiapane is demoted down to the fourth line. David Tomasek will stay in the lineup over AHL recall Max Jones.
On defence, Spencer Stastney will take Brett Kulak's spot on the third pair left side. It's tough to see a reliable player like Kulak gone, but there's some real potential for Stastney to be a great fit in Edmonton. Tonight we'll get our first look at him.
Most importantly, Tristan Jarry will get the start in net tonight after being traded just yesterday.
Oilers fans will be eager to see how their new goalie fares in his first game. Hopefully he gets off to a quality start.
They'll be going up against a struggling and depleted Maple Leafs team, one that the Oilers should be able to beat. William Nylander and Dakota Joshua are both questionable to play due to illness, on top of many other injuries.
