The Pittsburgh Penguins have officially activated Stuart Skinner and Brett Kulak to play in tomorrow's game against the Edmonton Oilers.
Just a few days ago the Oilers completed the major trade to send both players to Pittsburgh in exchange for Tristan Jarry. It'll be jarring to see the longtime veterans on opposite teams in this game.
Penguins officially activate Skinner and Kulak before playing Oilers
The Penguins officially announced today that Skinner and Kulak have joined the active roster.
Both players have missed 2 games since the trade due to delays handling their work permits.
This actually threatened Brett Kulak's streak of 295 consecutive games played, the 9th longest streak in the NHL.
The league has also formally announced that Kulak's streak is still considered active, as the games he's missed have been due to «reasons out of his control».
Skinner should be available to start tomorrow night against his former Oilers squad. It'll be a major test for him to face a high flying offence like Edmonton's in the defensive environment of Pittsburgh. It might get ugly.
It'll also be an emotional night for Tristan Jarry, who's spend his entire NHL career up until this point in Pittsburgh. He left his team unpopular like Skinner, and just like the former Oiler, will have something to prove tomorrow night. For many reasons, it's a huge game.
Leon Draisaitl is also sitting at 999 career points, and will be looking to hit the milestone against his former teammate. Hopefully he gets it done, and the Oilers can bag a win with Jarry against his former team too.
