As an athlete, part of the Olympics is the chance to represent your country on the international stage - but Team USA is drawing some criticism for a recent display.
Fans from North America have travelled halfway across the world to Milan to watch their country’s athletes compete for their country, which should draw some appreciation from the players.
Team Canada recognized those fans, but Team USA didn’t.

In a new video going viral online, someone overlapped a video of Team Canada and USA walking off the ice with their fans holding out their hands. Every Canadian player recognized the fans, but very few Americans did the same.
On Team USA, only Zach Werenski and Jeremy Swayman held out their hands to greet the fans. Auston Matthews held out his just to tap one Toronto Maple Leafs fan in attendance.
As fans have pointed out, this is a difference in humility and recognizing the moment between the two teams. Canada understands what this means for the fans in attendance and those watching across the country.
Team France shouted out Team Canada’s humility and politeness even after a blowout loss. This video shows that our team is still living up to Canadian values and our international reputation for sportsmanship.
Canadian fans loved to see this display from their team, and were stunned to see the difference in Team USA.
It’s great to see our boys representing our country the right way on the international stage. You can’t teach this level of dedication, humility, and selflessness, but it’s tradition for Team Canada.,
